Demos

The Jomres Demos

There are a number of demonstration servers for Jomres.

jomres-demo.net

The main server is www.jomres-demo.net, which shows Jomres acting as a portal application integrated into Joomla. This would be considered the "main" demo and shows Jomres running as a portal system however the subscription functionality is not enabled because we don't want to limit users who like to experiment with the system.

villa.jomres-demo.net

The next server is the "villa" demo which is a simple illustration of Jomres installed on a Joomla site with the "Is this a single property installation?" option in site configuration set to Yes. This effectively makes the default Jomres page the booking form for the first property in the system. Whilst the other functionality such as searching etc still exists and works, it's largely invisible to the guest user. Administration is done from the frontend as normal. When time allows I'll pretty that site up a bit, but for now it will suffice as a demonstration of how Jomres is suitable for single property sites.

standalone.jomres-demo.net

Here we can see Jomres running in it's standalone format, I.E. not integrated into Joomla. Instead, it runs using it's own software and is ideal if you're looking to run Jomres on a site that doesn't want or need the overhead of running Joomla too. Again, it's a very basic installation with only a couple of properties listed on the server. The goal isn't to demonstrate Jomres and it's whiz bang functionality, instead we want to show that Jomres will run quite happily running in a sub folder off your main site.

More information about Jomres standalone functionality is available on the wiki. http://manual.jomres.net/Jomres_Standalone

remote.jomres-demo.net

Not a demo like those above, instead the remote server is used to demonstrate remotely accessing the site to perform certain tasks, and is discussed at http://manual.jomres.net/How_to_use_the_API_plugin
