This manual is being depreciated. Much of the information here is out of date.
The new Jomres Documentation, updated in 2022, can be found at Jomres.net/documentation.
The two biggest items that our users customise in Jomres are languages and Template files. Languages are addressed elsewhere, so here we will talk about what to do if you want to modify Jomres template files.
Jomres templates reside in the /jomres/assetts/templates directory. You should never, ever modify these files. If you do you'll get yourself in a real pickle if you want to update later and you didn't thoroughly document everything you did because these files will be overwritten when you update Jomres.
Instead, you should use overrides.
There are two types of overrides, basic template overrides, and template packages. Our Leohtian template/themes for both Wordpress and Joomla both allow for template overrides in the wp-content/themes/jrleohtian_wp/html/com_jomres and /templates/jr_leohtian/html/com_jomres directories ( Wordpress and Joomla respectively).
If you are using your own theme/template and not Leohtian, then you would copy the template file you want to customise ( e.g. list_properties.html ) into the /html/com_jomres directory for your theme (create the parent directories if required).
The official Jomres theme/template is called Leohtian (old English for "Illuminate"), and we update that regularly to ensure that improvements to the system are reflected in the theme when appropriate. This can mean that your own customisations of files in /html/com_jomres can be overwritten therefor we have also provided a way for you to create your own Template Packages.
